The American Association of Airport Executives, International Association of Airport Executives, Queenstown Airport and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise are proud to present the 2012 AAAE/IAAE Global Green Aviation Conference, to be held in Queenstown, New Zealand, on February 13-15, 2012. The theme of this year's conference is "Strategic Initiatives for a Sustainable Industry."

The complex issues and emerging technologies surrounding environmental issues in the aviation community pose challenges as well as opportunities to airport operators, airlines and policymakers alike in every region of the world. This conference will provide an opportunity to examine the environmental policies and technologies in place today and to discuss how government and industry can work together in partnership to confront future environmental challenges in a way that draws attention to aviation environmental and social responsibility initiatives as good global citizens and allows aviation to serve as a more sustainable industry.

Topics that will be discussed include incorporating environmental efficiency in building planning, design and project management; reducing the aviation industry's carbon footprint; the future of green aviation initiatives around the globe; emerging environmental technologies and their aviation application; airline sustainability initiatives; energy efficiency; and incorporating environmental efficiency in airport building planning, design and project management.

Senior executives from the national governments, airport and airline representatives, and recognized industry leaders in the global environmental and sustainability arena will participate in the program.
