The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) is pleased to present the Employee Credentialing and Access Control Conference on June 7-8, 2010 in Portland, Oregon. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in particular the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), have been working cooperatively with industry on outlining a path forward for implementing biometric-based credentialing and access control systems at the nation’s airports. This day-and-a-half conference will provide an opportunity for key players from government and the aviation industry to continue this key dialogue face-to-face with interactive and informational sessions focused on the key issues related to biometric-based credentialing and access control systems.
Conference discussions will focus on the applicability of existing industry and government standards to aviation, the unique challenges and opportunities for implementing biometric systems in the airport operating environment and the lessons learned from previous efforts at airports, in other modes of transportation and other national and international programs. In addition to an update on the status of DHS, TSA and airport initiatives in this area, conference participants will learn about the latest technology advances and successful deployments as well as engage in substantive discussions on airport priorities and concerns, such as local control and flexibility, funding and phased implementation.
This conference is ideal for representatives from airports, airlines, aviation consultant firms and security technology companies involved in identity management, IT integration, access control systems, smart cards and biometrics. Representatives from DHS and TSA as well as recognized leaders in both the aviation and technology industry have been invited to participate on the program. An exhibit area highlighting the latest in biometric, smart card and access control technologies also will provide an opportunity for attendees to learn more about employee credentialing and access control systems.
