Jeff Price, a Principal with Leading Edge Strategies, an aviation management training and consulting company, has over 20 years of aviation industry experience. He just completed a comprehensive industry textbook titled Practical Aviation Security: Predicting and Preventing Future Threats, which provides a comprehensive look at virtually all areas of the industry and is essential reading for the aviation security practitioner. A former US Coast Guard Officer, Mr. Price is also the former airport manager of Jefferson County Airport (now Rocky Mountain Metropolitan), Colorado’s third busiest airport, and the former assistant security director at Denver International Airport.
Mr. Price holds a graduate degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in adult learning. His bachelor’s degree is in professional pilot and he is a commercial/instrument certificated pilot. He is also the national trainer for the American Association of Airport Executives Airport Security Coordinator course and the developer and trainer of AAAE’s Airport Certified Employee-Security course. In addition, he also trains courses in airport operations and emergency management.
Practical Aviation Security: Predicting and Preventing Future Threats, is published by Butterworth-Heinemann and is available now. Mr. Price’s research for the text has taken him to Tel Aviv, Israel, London’s Heathrow Airport, Dublin, Ireland, Vancouver, Canada and to numerous major airports throughout the U.S. including LAX, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and Boston/Logan International Airport.
Jeff is on faculty in the Aviation and Aerospace Science Department at the Metropolitan State College of Denver and makes his home in Arvada, Colorado.
