SHUTTLE FROM THE FAIRMONT FOR THIS TOUR LEAVES AT EXACTLY 8:00 AM
Space for the tour is limited, so please be sure to indicate your attendance on the registration form. Please check the box on the registration form or register online for the tour. You must register for the conference in order to participate in the tour. Only registered conference attendees may sign up for the tour.
Participants will view recently completed construction activities on the airfield at O’Hare, including Runway 9L, North Air Traffic Control Tower, Guard Post 1 vegetated roof, Runway 10L and Runway 10C construction and the South Airfield Detention Basin.
We would also like to extend an invitation to the Sustainable Airport Manual (SAM) working session that will take place on Friday, starting at 9:00 a.m.
The purpose of the Sustainable Airport Manual (SAM) is to integrate airport-specific sustainable planning and practice early in the design process, through construction, operations, maintenance and all airport functions with minimal impact to schedule or budget. Sign-in sheets for the general attendee tour, the SAM working group, and the post-SAM working group tour will be at the City of Chicago Department of Aviation booth located in the International Ballroom beginning Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. Shuttle service for the SAM working group will be the same as the airport tour (leaving from the Fairmont at 8:00 a.m.). The additional tour for the SAM working group begins at 11:45 a.m. and concludes at 2:15 p.m. Lunch will be provided, and shuttle service back to the hotel will also be available.
