General Information

AAAE and the Great Lakes Chapter AAAE are pleased to host the National Aviation Environmental Management Conference, February 8-10, 2009 in Tampa, Florida. This 18th annual meeting of aviation professionals will continue a tradition of education, networking and problem solving. In warm, sunny Tampa, Florida attendees will be able to escape the winter blues while getting to work on a host of environmental interests. Attendees will include a diverse group of airport executives, airline representatives, consultants and service providers.

This year’s Environmental Management Conference will continue its mission of providing regulatory guidance as well as professional sessions on water quality and air quality. Energy/resource management, LEED certification, and socially responsible operations will be paired with the need to cut costs and improve efficiency. Attendees’ efforts will result in a sustainable blend of airport management techniques that benefit airports, airlines and the communities they serve.

In addition, we invite you to come early to attend the Environmental Services Committee meeting on Sunday. This growing, member-driven committee is working on several areas of interest and gearing up for the challenges facing airports in 2009. Attendees are encouraged to participate and share their expertise.
