American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), in collaboration with Los Angeles World Airports, C&S Engineers, Inc., Kaplan Kirsch & Rockwell and Synergy Consultants, presents the Fifth Annual Aviation Air Quality Conference to be held April 29-May 1, 2009 in Los Angeles, California . This year’s conference, entitled Aviation in a Climate Changing World, presents a comprehensive overview of the issues and regulatory requirements facing airports while offering interactive sessions and case studies that will enhance attendees’ job performance and knowledge base. Speakers will include prominent representatives from the FAA, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), airports and other aviation sectors.
The conference will begin with a special workshop, sponsored by Wyle Labs and Synergy Consultants, dedicated to a tutorial of the Airport Cooperative Research Program Greenhouse Gas Guidebook. This special session will detail how to create and format greenhouse gas inventories at airports. Other sessions will explore areas such as the basics of climate
change, what actions airports are taking to deal with climate change effects and how to implement air quality and climate action plans within today’s tight financial constraints. An overview of federal, state and international regulations, a panel exploring continued issues with criteria pollutants and a session highlighting unique aviation airport projects round out the second day of the conference. There is plenty of time built in throughout the conference for topical discussions and networking. Lunch on both days features a lively debate of pros and cons on key issues. With the ever-changing state of air quality and its effect on our nation’s airports, this annual conference is a must for airport managers, environmental engineers and other industry air quality professionals.
All sessions will take place at the Wilshire Grand. The conference will begin with a special workshop at 9 a.m. on April 29, and will end with an airport tour at 3:30 p.m. on May 1. Registration fees include the reception, three continental breakfasts, two luncheons, all refreshment breaks, airport tour and course materials. Dress is business attire.
