AAAE NextGen Airport Conference is a unique event, that brings all facets of airport technology to one place. This inaugural conference is being unveiled in Louisville, Kentucky, hosted by Louisville Regional Airport Authority which owns and operates one of the most technologically advanced airports in the United States. Louisville International Airport (KSDF) serves a wide variety of users, including all four major user groups of aviation, and is home to UPS’s Worldport facility. KSDF is the third largest cargo airport in the U.S., ninth largest in the world and the 68th largest passenger facility in the U.S. and has been in the forefront of promoting and testing new technologies.
The conference is sponsored by BrainStore, ITT Corporation (Platinum Sponsor), Era Corporation, and Lockheed Martin Corporation. Airport Technology Angel sponsors are Chauntry Corporation, Ltd. and Eagle Integrated Solutions, Inc..
The conference will feature new airside, terminal, curbside, and parking technology solutions available to U.S. airports. This year's theme will place a large focus on Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) and its benefits to the airport community.
The AAAE NextGen Airport Conference will follow a unique format with panel discussions as well as technology demonstrations, covering a range of notable technology related issues affecting our nation's airports today and the challenges facing the industry in the future. The sessions will provide an opportunity for attendees to exchange ideas as well as discuss and share technology solutions. Demonstrations will provide opportunities to learn about advanced technologies currently being implemented and developed. The conference will provide a unique networking forum with prominent figures in the airport community, U.S. government, and industry.
Conference attendees will be privileged to an exclusive, behind the scenes tour of UPS Worldport, the most technologically advanced package sorting facility in the world! UPS’s Louisville air hub is the critical “all-points” facility in which millions of packages from every corner of the world are processed. The tour will take conference participants into the sorting facility during the afternoon international push and will allow a glimpse into how packages are sorted. The tour will also put in perspective how ADS-B and other surface management technologies allow UPS to coordinate aircraft loading and arrivals/departures as part of this fascinating process.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to see the latest technologies first hand in the exhibit hall. They will also be able to interactively discover the most current technology solutions that can benefit their airport and see what new developments are in the works.
All sessions and events will take place at the Hyatt Regency Louisville. The conference will begin August 5, at 8:30 am (continental breakfast and registration start at 7:30 am) and will end August 7, at 12:30 pm.
